Worship by University Lutheran Church, Seattle WA
Sanctuary Worship is at the heartbeat of our community of faith. Everyone is welcome to join in this time of celebration and reflection, preparation and remembrance. As we gather to hear God’s Word and share in the weekly celebration of bread and wine at the Lord’s table, we give thanks for all of God’s blessings in our lives and pray for the faith and courage to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ in this world. Given that Jesus is the host at this table, everyone is invited to come and receive the gracious gift of God’s forgiveness and the freedom of a renewed life.

Our worship is enhanced by offering a wide variety of liturgies during the different seasons of the church year. Along with our traditional liturgy from the Lutheran Book of Worship, we offer an international liturgy, an African liturgy, a Latino liturgy, a contemplative liturgy, a liturgy of spiritual songs, and a couple of other liturgies of celebration. Our children and youth regularly plan and lead us in worship.

From September to June, our gifted choir leads the congregation in song and offers pieces from the classics to spirituals, from the traditional to the popular. The congregation also is blessed with many fine instrumentalists who offer their talents in worship leadership throughout the year. If you enjoy singing or playing an instrument, you will find a home here at University Lutheran where people sing with great enthusiasm and know how to make a joyful noise in giving glory to God.
